Why Gluvy is our top pick for guided face yoga, gua sha and calm routines on iPhone. We make Gluvy, and we say so.

Gluvy vs FaceYogi comes down to how much guidance and variety you want: Gluvy is our top pick if you’re on iPhone, with follow-along video and a countdown timer on every step, 229 guided face yoga exercises, about 34 gua sha and massage courses, skincare lessons and guided breathing in one app, at $49.99 a year. FaceYogi offers a short personalised 7-day program and quarterly billing. Both are free to download and both sell subscriptions. Full disclosure: Gluvy wrote this page, and Gluvy is one of the two apps.

We did not run hands-on tests of FaceYogi. Everything about FaceYogi below comes from its public App Store listing, checked in October 2026. Everything about Gluvy comes from our own product information and pricing page. Prices and features change, so check both listings before you subscribe.

The short verdict

Best overall on iPhone: Gluvy. It’s the one to choose if you:

  • Want to watch and copy every move on video, with a countdown on every step so you never have to guess how long to hold.
  • Want a big library: 229 guided face yoga video exercises across 8 face areas.
  • Want plenty of gua sha and facial massage, not just face exercises, with about 34 video courses.
  • Like having skincare lessons and calm breathing, body scan, sleep and stress-relief sessions in the same app.
  • Want structure: 3-week plans of 5–10 minutes a day, morning and night routines, reminders and a progress journal with selfies.
  • Want the lower price: $7.99 a week or $49.99 a year, based on the US listings in October 2026.

Other options. FaceYogi’s listing describes a personalised 7-day program shaped around the skin concerns you enter, and it bills weekly or quarterly. If you use Android, check Google Play for FaceYogi, since Gluvy is iPhone only.

Gluvy combines face yoga, a large gua sha library, skincare and relaxation in one app, with video guidance throughout and a lower weekly and yearly cost.

Exercise guidance

Gluvy shows you every move on video and times every step for you.

Gluvy is built around follow-along video workouts. There are 229 guided face yoga video exercises across 8 areas: the forehead, eyes, nose, lips and mouth, cheeks, chin and jawline, neck and full face. Every step has a countdown timer, so you copy the move and let the app tell you when to switch. Plans run for 3 weeks at about 5–10 minutes a day, organised by face area, and AI face analysis can suggest which areas to start with (as a starting point, not a diagnosis). Morning and night routines and reminders help the habit stick.

FaceYogi’s listing describes a personalised 7-day program built from the information you give it about your skin, with sessions of about 8 minutes a day. The listing doesn’t spell out the size of the exercise library or how each step is timed.

Whichever app you use, form matters more than library size. The 5-minute face yoga routine for beginners shows what a gentle, well-paced session looks like, and the 12 face yoga exercises guide explains form for every area.

A note on expectations: research on face yoga is limited. The study most often cited is a small 2018 pilot in JAMA Dermatology (Alam et al., 2018). Of 27 women aged 40 to 65 who enrolled, 16 completed 30 minutes of exercises a day for 8 weeks, then every other day until week 20. Dermatologists rating standardised photos saw improved upper and lower cheek fullness, and estimated age dropped from about 50.8 to 48.1 years. There was no control group, so larger controlled studies are needed. Our article on whether face yoga works goes into more detail.

Massage and gua sha

This is where Gluvy offers the most extra content.

Gluvy has about 34 gua sha and facial-massage video courses. They range from jawline, cheek, brow, nose and neck routines with a stone to morning depuffing massages, jaw relaxation and relaxing face yoga sessions, all with a timer on every step. A short introductory course covers what gua sha is, how to choose a stone and the basic strokes, so you can start even if you’ve never held one.

FaceYogi’s full App Store name pairs face yoga with massage. Its listing doesn’t describe dedicated gua sha courses with a stone.

If you’re new to gua sha, our gua sha routine guide walks through angle, pressure and order, and the gua sha hub covers stones, technique and the evidence.

Skincare and relaxation

Gluvy adds skincare lessons and guided relaxation to your face routine.

Gluvy’s skincare lessons are swipeable guides such as Skincare Rituals and the Glow Up Challenge, plus short article courses on retinol, serums, pores and gentle exfoliation at home. Gluvy also has guided sessions for breathing, a body scan, a sleep ritual and stress relief, designed to sit beside your face routine as a few calm minutes, morning or night. Its progress journal lets you add selfies so you can look back over your weeks of practice.

FaceYogi’s listing focuses on its personalised program and a diary for tracking how your skin looks after sessions. We couldn’t confirm breathing or sleep sessions from its listing.

Price, trial and cancellation

Both apps are free to download and bill through the App Store on iPhone; Gluvy costs less per week and per year.

Gluvy (US App Store, as of October 2026, see pricing):

  • Free to download.
  • Gluvy Pro: $7.99 a week or $49.99 a year.
  • New users may see a one-time yearly offer of $39.99 in the app.
  • One simple App Store billing route. Cancel in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions.

FaceYogi (US App Store, as of October 2026, per its listing):

  • Free to download with in-app purchases.
  • $9.99 a week or $49.99 a quarter. Prices vary by country, so check the in-app screen for yours.
  • If you subscribed through the App Store, cancel in the same place: iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions (Apple’s guide).

Is the FaceYogi app free? You can download it and look around for free, but the personalised program sits behind a subscription. Whether either app offers a free trial can change, so check the offer you see on the day rather than relying on any comparison page, this one included. The same goes for a FaceYogi promo code: we don’t know of any current codes, so look for offers inside the app and ignore code sites that ask for payment details.

On the US listings, Gluvy’s weekly price is $2 lower, and Gluvy’s $49.99 covers a full year while FaceYogi’s $49.99 covers a quarter, so four quarters come to about $200. Compare yearly totals, note your renewal date, and remember that a weekly plan adds up quickly if you practise for months. The free face yoga apps guide shows what each app gives you before you pay.

Why Gluvy is our top pick

Gluvy goes deeper on guided video and adds more around your face routine.

  • Structure. 3-week plans by face area, such as the chin and jawline program, at about 5–10 minutes a day, with routines, reminders and a selfie journal.
  • Lower US prices. $7.99 a week or $49.99 a year, as of October 2026.

When another app might suit you

  • Android. Gluvy is iPhone only; check Google Play for FaceYogi or another face yoga app.
  • Quarterly billing. FaceYogi bills weekly or quarterly; Gluvy bills weekly or yearly.
  • A 7-day format. FaceYogi’s listing describes a personalised 7-day program based on the skin concerns you enter.

FaceYogi app reviews on the App Store are worth reading before you subscribe, especially for how billing and renewals worked for other people. If you’re also comparing FaceYogi vs Luvly, the best face yoga apps comparison and the Luvly alternatives guide cover both on the same criteria. Every comparison lives in our apps and alternatives hub.

Before you start any face routine, keep the pressure light and stop any move that hurts. Check with a doctor or dentist first if you have jaw (TMJ) or neck problems, recent facial surgery or injections, or an active skin condition.
