Gluvy vs Luvly comes down to how you want to be guided, and for most iPhone users our answer is Gluvy: every exercise is a follow-along video with a countdown timer on every step, and the same app adds about 34 gua sha and facial-massage courses, skincare lessons and guided breathing, body scan and sleep sessions, all in 3-week plans of 5–10 minutes a day. Both apps are free to download. Full disclosure: Gluvy wrote this page, and Gluvy is one of the two apps.
We did not run hands-on tests of Luvly. Everything about Luvly below comes from its public App Store listing and help centre, checked in October 2026. Everything about Gluvy comes from our own product information and pricing page. Prices and features change, so check both listings before you subscribe.
The short verdict
Our top recommendation is Gluvy. It is the best fit if you:
- Use an iPhone.
- Want to follow along with video rather than read steps, with a countdown timer so you never have to guess how long to hold.
- Want a large gua sha and facial-massage library, not just face yoga.
- Like having skincare lessons and calm breathing, body scan or sleep sessions in the same app.
- Want short, structured 3-week plans of 5–10 minutes a day, with morning and night routines, reminders and a selfie progress journal.
- Prefer one billing route (the App Store), so there is one place to cancel.
When Luvly might suit you instead: if you use Android, want to subscribe on a website rather than through a phone store, or specifically want meal plans or a cosmetic ingredient scanner, which Luvly’s listing includes and Gluvy doesn’t.
If you’re still weighing other apps too, our guide to the best face yoga apps compares six of them side by side. If you already use Luvly and want to switch, the Luvly alternatives guide explains how to cancel cleanly.

Read down the table and a pattern shows: Gluvy goes deeper exactly where daily practice happens, with timed video guidance, a dedicated gua sha library, skincare lessons and calm relaxation sessions, all under one simple subscription.
Guidance and exercise library
The biggest practical difference is how each app guides you through a move, and this is where Gluvy stands out.
Gluvy is built around follow-along video workouts. There are 229 guided face yoga video exercises covering 8 areas: the forehead, eyes, nose, lips and mouth, cheeks, chin and jawline, neck and full face. Every step has a countdown timer, so you watch, copy the move and let the app tell you when to switch. No guessing how long to hold, no losing your place in written instructions, just press play and follow.
Luvly’s listing describes personalised face yoga programs with hundreds of exercises and massages for areas such as the jawline, cheeks and forehead. Because the listing doesn’t give an exact count or describe step timing in detail, we can’t compare the two like for like on numbers.
Whichever app you use, form matters more than the size of the library. Our 5-minute face yoga routine for beginners shows what a gentle, well-paced session looks like, and the jawline exercises guide covers form for one of the most popular areas.
Programs and personalisation
Gluvy gives you a clear, short plan from day one.
In Gluvy, you choose an area such as the forehead, eyes and brows, cheeks or chin and jawline, and follow a 3-week plan of about 5–10 minutes a day. An AI face analysis in onboarding gives you a starting point and suggests focus areas. It is not a medical or dermatological diagnosis, just a way to help you pick where to begin. Morning and night routines, reminders and a progress journal with selfies help you keep the habit going and look back on how your practice has gone. If the jaw and neck are your focus, the chin and jawline program shows how one of those plans is put together.
Luvly’s listing says it builds a personalised program around the areas you choose, and it also mentions a progress journal.
A note on expectations, whichever app you choose: research on face yoga is limited. The study most often cited is a small 2018 pilot in JAMA Dermatology (Alam et al., 2018). Of 27 women aged 40 to 65 who enrolled, 16 completed 30 minutes of exercises a day for 8 weeks, then every other day until week 20. Dermatologists rating standardised photos saw improved upper and lower cheek fullness, and estimated age dropped from about 50.8 to 48.1 years. There was no control group, so larger controlled studies are needed. Be wary of any app, including ours, that seems to promise a specific result. Our article on whether face yoga works covers the research in more detail.
Beyond face yoga: gua sha, skincare and relaxation
Gluvy brings face yoga, a large gua sha library, skincare lessons and relaxation together in one app.
Gua sha and facial massage
This is where Gluvy is most distinctive. It has about 34 gua sha and facial-massage video courses, from jawline and cheek strokes to brow, nose and neck routines, morning depuffing massages and relaxing face yoga sessions, each one a follow-along video with a timer on every step. There’s also a short introductory course on what gua sha is, how to choose a stone and basic technique. If you want to learn the basics first, our gua sha routine guide walks through angle, pressure and order, and the gua sha hub covers the rest.
Luvly’s listing includes massages within its face yoga programs.
Skincare
Gluvy includes skincare lessons: swipeable guides such as Skincare Rituals and the Glow Up Challenge, and short article courses on topics like retinol, serums, pores and gentle exfoliation at home. They sit right next to your face yoga plan, so learning about your routine and practising it happen in the same place.
Luvly’s listing mentions skincare content and a cosmetic scanner that checks product ingredients.
Relaxation and wellness
Gluvy has guided sessions for breathing, a body scan, a sleep ritual and stress relief, designed to sit alongside your face routine as a calm few minutes at the start or end of the day. Luvly’s listing mentions breathing exercises and also meal plans. Gluvy has no meal plans or nutrition content; its focus stays on face yoga, gua sha, skincare and calm.
Price and billing
Both apps are free to download and sell subscriptions; Gluvy keeps it to one simple route.
Gluvy (US App Store, as of October 2026, see pricing):
- Free to download.
- Gluvy Pro: $7.99 a week or $49.99 a year.
- New users may see a one-time yearly offer of $39.99 in the app.
- Billing runs through the App Store only. You cancel in one place: iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Luvly (as of October 2026):
- Free to download with in-app purchases, per its App Store listing.
- Prices vary by plan, country and where you buy, so check the current listing or in-app screen for the price you would actually pay.
- According to Luvly’s help centre, you can subscribe through the App Store, Google Play or the Luvly website, and each is cancelled in a different place. A subscription bought on the website won’t appear in your phone’s subscription settings.
So how much does Luvly cost compared with Gluvy? It depends on the offer you see on the day. Compare the yearly totals rather than weekly prices, note the renewal date, and write down where you paid. If you’re cancelling Luvly, the step-by-step routes for each billing method are in our Luvly alternatives guide.
Why Gluvy is our top pick
Gluvy’s advantage is depth exactly where a daily face routine needs it.
- Follow-along video with timers. All 229 face yoga exercises are guided videos across 8 face areas, and every step is timed.
- A real gua sha library. About 34 dedicated gua sha and facial-massage video courses, plus an introductory course on choosing and using a stone.
- More than face yoga. Skincare lessons and article courses, plus guided breathing, body scan, sleep and stress-relief sessions.
- Short, structured plans. 3-week plans built around 5–10 minutes a day, with morning and night routines, reminders and a progress journal with selfies.
- A helpful starting point. AI face analysis suggests focus areas (not a diagnosis).
- Simple billing. One route, the App Store, and one place to cancel, at $49.99 a year or $7.99 a week.
Before you start any face routine, keep the pressure light and stop any move that hurts. Check with a doctor or dentist first if you have jaw (TMJ) or neck problems, recent facial surgery or injections, or an active skin condition.
Other options
Gluvy is iPhone only. If you use Android, Luvly is available on Google Play, and it can also be bought on its website. Luvly is an established app from Gismart, and its listing includes meal plans and a cosmetic ingredient scanner, which Gluvy doesn’t offer. As with any subscription app, read the renewal terms before you start and keep a note of where you subscribed; public Luvly face yoga reviews can show how billing worked for other people.
If you’re also comparing Luvly vs FaceYogi, or other apps entirely, the best face yoga apps comparison and the free face yoga apps guide cover them on the same criteria. You’ll find every comparison in our apps and alternatives hub.

Frequently asked questions
Is Gluvy cheaper than Luvly?
Gluvy keeps pricing simple. As of October 2026, Gluvy Pro costs $7.99 a week or $49.99 a year on the US App Store, and new users may see a one-time yearly offer of $39.99 in the app. Luvly is also free to download with in-app purchases, but its prices depend on the plan, the country and whether you buy in the app or on its website. Compare both current listings on the day you decide, and look at the yearly cost rather than the weekly one.
Which app has more exercises?
Gluvy has 229 guided face yoga video exercises across 8 face areas, plus about 34 gua sha and facial-massage video courses, every one of them a follow-along video with a timer on each step. Luvly's App Store listing describes hundreds of exercises and massages but doesn't give an exact count that can be compared like for like.
Can I use Gluvy and Luvly together?
Yes, nothing stops you from installing both. Most people find it easier to stick with one plan at a time, though, because two programs and two subscriptions quickly become a lot to keep up with. Gluvy's 3-week plans are a simple place to start: follow one for a few weeks, then decide whether you are missing anything.
Is either app available on Android?
Gluvy is an iPhone app only, with no Android or web version. Luvly's help centre covers subscriptions bought on Google Play as well as the App Store and its website, so if you use Android, Luvly is the one of these two you can install.
Which is better for gua sha?
Gluvy. It has about 34 dedicated gua sha and facial-massage video courses, with a timer on every step and an introductory course on choosing and using a stone. Luvly's listing includes massages within its programs, but gua sha isn't its main focus as far as the listing shows.
Practise this with Gluvy. Follow-along videos with a timer for every step. See everything in the Gluvy app.
